An adventure of my life time!

There are a number of State Parks, recreation areas around the island. Both Makenzie State Park and Kahena Black Sand Beach locate on the east side of the Big Island along route 137.

Makenzie features volcanic coastline.

Kahena is quiet unique. The beach was formed when lava flowed down the sea and into the ocean. A short walk on the lava will take you to the beach. The sand is black!
