An adventure of my life time!

This is not an official trail. My host told me about this trail in Kokee State Park. It is also similar to Nualolo and Awa’awapuhi, but it is shorter (about 4 miles rt) and steeper. It starts behind the fence at Kalalau Lookout. The trail is very narrow, sometime through fern bushes, and other times along the ridge with steep drop-offs. But the view is better than what you can see from the other two trails. And the open area provided much appreciated breeze.

There seems not many tree on the mountain. Is that right?

    • You are right. I guess it is too close to the coast. But not too far away from the location, there are forests with lots of trees. I had to hike through the woods to get to the location.
