There are several amazing trails starting from Moraine Lake (Banff NP). A little more than a month ago, there were still a lot of snow on the ground and it actually started snowing while I hiked. I didn’t get a chance to take any picture. Even this time, the weather wasn’t the best, but the view is first class.
Sentinel Pass seems to be a very popular trail. If you like solitude, I suggest you to start early. I started my hike really early in the morning (around 6). I didn’t see anyone until I turned back. All along the way back, there were tons of people hiking up. When I returned to the parking lot, it was completely full. Many cars parked along the side of the road for a long way. The scenery is no doubt breathtaking and worth the effort to hike more than 12 km.
